Ralf Buschmeyer Nominated for 3 Hamilton Music Awards
We are pleased to announce the nomination of Calgary-based guitarist, Ralf Buschmeyer for the 2009 Hamilton Music Awards. Ralf's second solo album, 'Renewal,' captured the eyes of the Ontario city's jury in three categories: Blues Recording of the Year, Instrumental Recording of the Year, and Guitarist of the Year.
These nods mark the second year in a row for Ralf Buschmeyer in Hamilton – his debut solo album, 'EST 1968,' was nominated for the 2008 Instrumental Recording of the Year.
Ralf lived in Hamilton, Ontario, for several years while he studied at Mohawk College with guitar legend Lorne Lofsky. Guest vocalist Corinne Plomish, who lends her talents on two album tracks and co-wrote three tunes, was born in Hamilton. She started her singing career in the city, and performed regularly at the Grant Avenue Studio, a venue then under the ownership of heavy-weight producer Dan Lanois. She has recently completed some projects for Hamilton-based recording studio MJM Productions. Although they both now reside in Calgary, their music continues to be heavily influenced by these eastern roots.
