Attention Calgary Jazz Fans! Help Save the Beat Niq!
It's time to help out the fine folks over at the Beat Niq Jazz and Social Club! After 12 years of supporting and building the Calgary Jazz Scene, the Beat Niq has been hit by the current economic downturn.
In order to keep the doors open to Calgary’s only live jazz venue, the Beat Niq needs community support in order to raise $60,000 by September 15
From the Artists and staff at Chronograph Records, we would like to reach out to the Calgary Jazz Community and ask you all to help save this great supporter of creative music in Alberta!
Beat Niq has been developing as one of Canada’s premier jazz venues for the last 14 years. Beat Niq is not a non-profit organization; however, the high caliber of music is entirely subsidized by profits of the upstairs Piq Niq Bistro, and owners Rob and Connie Young. During the economic crisis we are facing, the reserves to sustain the music need to be supplemented in order to keep the Beat Niq doors open, hence, a structured membership strategy is being implemented. If a member takes advantage of their privileges, the membership pays for itself!
Come join a number of Chronograph and Calgary Jazz artists to support the Club at their Fundraising Gala on September 9, 10, 11, & 12th, 2009. There will be a Silent Auction, as well as great music each night including our own Ralf Buschmeyer, Allistair Elliot, Tyler Hornby, Sillan & Young, and Hutchinson Andrew Trio!
For more information how to help the Beat Niq weather these harsh economic times and keep jazz strong in Calgary, visit www.beatniq.com for more information.
We look forward to seeing you there!
