100 mile house Reaches New Heights
A Two-Night Album Release and Label Deal Celebration! 100 mile house will celebrate the release of their new album Wait With Me on March 2 in Calgary at The Ironwood Stage and Grill, and March 9 in Edmonton at The Roxy Theatre.
Their third album is built upon a journey of self-reflection and finding that inspiration to share these personal discoveries. This approach has become a key component of their unique lyrical brand of transatlantic folk.
Self-produced and recorded at The Bird Shop in Edmonton, 100 mile house concentrated on the basics, adding layers only to enhance, not detract. Scott Zubots distinct violin and mandolin work added the perfect third voice to the collection of songs.
Wait With Me is the first 100 mile house recording to be released with Calgary-based Chronograph Records. It was their haunting melodies that piqued Chronograph Records' interest and eventually led to the signing of the band. "We've been slowly and carefully expanding our label to include genres outside of jazz. We wanted to bring a new flavor to our roster, while still aligning with our core philosophies and 100 mile house fit the bill perfectly. We're thrilled to be a part of their journey," explains General Manager, Stephanie Hutchinson.
To celebrate their new addition and new musical family, release events will be held on Saturday March 2 at The Ironwood Stage and Grill (1229 - 9th Avenue S.E.,) in Calgary and on Saturday March 9 at the Roxy Theatre (10708 - 124 Street) in Edmonton. 100 mile house will be joined on stage by a variety of musical guests and Lucas Chaisson (Calgary) and Amy Van Keeken (Edmonton) will start the nights off with style and grace.
Tickets for both shows are $15 in advance and can be reserved for the Calgary show by calling the Ironwood, 403-269-5581 and be purchased through www.YEGLive.ca in Edmonton.
